Patch V 0.11 Out Now!
New Content:
A brand new companion Qingyan arrives. To unlock her, players need to take on the revamped Colosseum challenge to unlock a short quest which will have her join your team. She comes with her own scene after you unlock her, but currently does not have any content available from leveling her up. That should arrive next patch amongst many other things.
New Patreon Exclusive Companion Patrina is here. Arriving with her own H Scene, members of the Patreon can head into the Patreon Lounge at the exclusive club in Crownreach to recruit her. Once she has joined your party, she will remain a permanent addition, even if you cancel your Patreon subscription. However, any scenes release in the future will need the current Patreon Code for that patch to watch. Head on over to the Patreon now to watch her exclusive scene!
Efelhi's H Scene changed. Listening to feedback, it seems Efelhi’s current scene wasn’t too popular with players and I wasn’t too happy with the quality nor the content of the scene either. Players will no longer have the choice to watch her and the bandit during the Path of the Archer quest and will instantly step in to save her. Instead, Efelhi has a new event and scene that can be unlocked by visiting her house in Feraldon after the quest “Midnight Cravings”.
Bugfixes:
- Incorrect event caused Knight to not appear before and after Lich Boss fight during Path of the Priest.
- Fixed issue with the stairs in Cassington Inn preventing people from going upstairs or downstairs.
- Cleared an old unused event on the Bow in the Archer's guild which crashed the game if interacted with.
- Fixed a bug where during the quest Midnight Cravings, Mary would teleport into the ceiling.
- Fixed issues with players not being able to walk over certain tiles.
- Fixed bugs where entering certain doorways would cause the player to walk out of a different house.
- Fixed a window tile in the Princesses room which let the player walk through walls.
- Fixed an issue causing one of Lyra's forest scenes to not appear in the Chamber of Reflection.
- Fixed an issue where Durgin wouldn't recognise the player having enough iron if they have more than 10.
- Fixed a bug where Lyra's warning message in Thistlebrook forest would replay if the player revisited the clearing.
- Fixed a bug where the player could walk through the side of the gate leading to Oakwood Manor.
- Fixed an issue whereby cycling through quests in a certain order would cause the Bat to spawn early.
- Adjusted a part of the Shoreline in Eastport to fix tiling issues with the dock.
- Fixed a bug where talking to Harlu for the first time wouldn't activate her event automatically.
Thanks to everyone who let me know about these bugs and if you find anymore whilst playing, please just let me know either here or on itch.
Other small changes:
Balancing:
A few changes have been made to different classes and companions to try and keep the game at least somewhat balanced, even if not perfectly so. Several characters and classes will now gain access to different skills and at different levels to try and even the playing field. For example, Mira has had some of her skills adjusted to give her a bit more offensive power and prevent her from being exclusively a healbot. Additionally, I've tweaked some of the numbers in terms of stats, since characters like Ellie felt a bit overtuned compared to some of the others.
Clarity:
One of the main criticisms people had was that there is not enough direction and it's quite easy to get lost at times. Whilst I wish to keep the game open world and reward the player for exploring and discovering things by themselves, I have made some adjustments so that the player doesn't ever feel like they are truly lost.
One way to do this is by removing the gold cost of the fortune teller. Since the fortune teller is one of the best ways to find clues on where to head next, I felt that the gold cost should be removed so that players don't feel punished for needing to use it (also I'm sure a lot of you just saved before speaking to her and didn't actually use any gold).
I've also adjusted several questlogs which didn't give the player enough direction as to where they should head. An example of this is the Path of the Mage quest which gave no real direction as to where you could find the rogue wizard's hut. In the same vein, Harlu's box locations should now have an indicator to help the player find them. Whilst this shouldn't make them too easy to find, it should hopefully mean that by using the clues at the tent and these new indicators, everyone can find where that clown hid them.
Other:
Due to the polarising content, there is now a warning and choice to skip the scene between the Earth Mage and the monster in the summoning lab. Whilst I understand content like this isn't everyone's cup of tea, I don't want to outright remove it from the game since it is very much a side event that the player doesn't even need to activate to progress. I've also removed the formation option in the menu since it served no real purpose and also caused a bug where the player would follow an invisible NPC.
Thank you everyone for enjoying Zero to Harem Hero and I can't wait to share my plans for the games first major update which will be coming soon.
